Athens 2012_Ifigeneia Liangi

"The project is called 'still life' and is still ongoing. Its core idea is the in between state of hope and despair, which is in my opinion a duality that characterises the city of Athens at the moment. Situated in the centre of the city, a series of neoclassical facades inhabit potential playgrounds. Some of these playgrounds are: banks that exchange their habitable shadows, trees that pick up their own oranges, a mechanical bird that moves (because it can) and pretends to be flying.. and finally, columns of watermelon ice-cream, which runs indefinitely on the concrete slabs of the schoolyard towards the only person that is left in the city.."

An interesting project about Athens from Ifigeneia Liangi, student at the Bartlett School of Architecture
